BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech (1-1-0) put together a dominant performance Sunday afternoon, cruising past Howard (0-2-0), 7-0, at Thompson Field.

The Hokies controlled the match from the opening whistle, taking a 2-0 advantage into halftime before adding five goals in the second half.

Virginia Tech's attack was led by sophomore defender Jaden Chan Tack, who found the back of the net twice on three shots. Yanis Belatrache, Chase Vazquez and Noe Uwimana each added a goal, while Dagur Traustason and Mehdi Kettani also scored off the bench.

Alex Perez played a key role in the Hokies' offensive production, recording a team-high three assists. Parker Polk added an assist, while Chuy Moreno also registered an assist in the second half.
