Men defeat ranked Virginia squad

Men's team defeats No. 21 ranked UVA team 157-104.

BLACKSBURG – The Hokie men’s squad celebrated Senior Day with a win over No. 21 Virginia, 157-104. The women fell to the No. 1-ranked Cavalier women, 201-87. 

Junior Brendan Whitfield logged three first-place finishes in the 50 free (19.12), 100 free (43.52) and 200 free (1:33.42), and sophomore Eli Martin placed first in the 100 breast (51.93) and 200 breast (1:57.38). His 100 breast time elevated him to the fourth-highest time in program history, and tied for 25th in the nation. 

Jakub Poliacik logged a first-place finish in the 500 free (4:18.69), jumping to the seventh-best program time. Chiara Klein moved up in the record book, recording a 1:46.07 200 free to rank seventh all-time.
