COLUMBIA, S.C.– The Hokie men took home a 185-113 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks, while the women’s squad fell 98-196. Carmen Weiler Sastre and Brendan Whitfield left their mark on the meet, setting pool records in the Carolina Natatorium. Weiler Sastre took home the 100 back (51.59) and 100 free (48.10) records, and Whitfield posted the 100 free record with a time of 42.06.
Chiara Klein set a new program top-10 time with her 200 free, logging a program seventh-best time (1:46.41). Amanda Barnard also worked her way into the program’s top-10 with a 1:58.43 200 fly, good for seventh-fastest in the program. Eli Martin broke his own personal best time in the 100 breast, elevating to fifth-best in program history (52.60).
