Hokies qualify 12 athletes for Men's NCAA Championships

BLACKSBURG The No. 10 Virginia Tech men's swim and dive team had 12 athletes and five relays qualify for the 2021 Men's NCAA Championships.
 
The 10 Hokie men who punched an individual ticket to NCAA's are, Carles Coll Marti (200 IM, 200 BR), Filippo Dal Maso (400 IM), Dylan Eichberg (200 FL), Thomas Hallock (50 FR), Antani Ivanov (500 FR, 100 FL, 200 FL), Blake Manoff (100 FL, 200 FLY, 200 FR), Keith Myburgh (400 IM), AJ Pouch (200 BR), Youssef Ramadan (50 FR, 100 FL, 100 FR), Sam Tornqvist (200BK).
 
The Hokies will also be competing in four relays. The events and athletes are listed below:
 
200 Medley:  Blake Manoff, Carles Coll Marti, Antani Ivanov, Thomas Hallock
800 Free: Blake Manoff, Antani Ivanov, Carles Coll Marti, Sam Tornqvist
200 Free: Youssef Ramadan, Thomas Hallock, David Herbert, Blake Manoff
400 Medley: Forest Webb, AJ Pouch, Antani Ivanov, Youssef Ramdan
400 Free: Youssef Ramadan, Blake Manoff, Carles Coll Marti, Antani Ivanov
 
Freshman Youssef Ramadan is the No. 1 seed in the 100 fly, coming off his record breaking performance at ACCs. Ramadan swam the fastest 100 fly time a freshman has ever swam in NCAA history at 44.32.
 
Tech is tied for seventh in the country for the most athletes invited to NCAAs. The Hokies are tied with Stanford and Michigan with ten invitations.
 
The team comes in ranked No.10 in the most recent CSCAA coaches poll following a solid performance at the ACC Championships.
 
The 2021 Men's NCAA Championships will be held March 24-27 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
