With tough competition both on the team and individual level, the Virginia Tech track and field squads will look to make their mark on the conference in a variety of events. We've highlighted some of the performances to watch out for throughout this year's first postseason meet.

Distance
Lindsey Butler and Bashir Mosavel-Lo are set up to do well in their 800m runs, as they are both seeded second in their respective events. Both distance medley relays will aim for gold, with the men holding the fastest time in the ACC this season and the women in second. Other events to watch out for podium finishes are the 3000m and the mile run, with the Hokies hoping to further break the four-minute mark.

Sprints
The dominant Jacory Patterson and Caitlan Tate are seeded first in the men's and women's sections of the 400m and look to secure gold for the Hokies. In the 60m and 200m, Hokies will push for strong results, while both 4x400m relays have their sights set on silverware.

Pole Vault
Looking to close out her senior indoor season with a conference win, Rachel Baxter is set to blow the rest of the field out of the water. On the men's side, Harrison Rice and Jacob Rice have steadily improved all season and will challenge to be the very best in the conference.

Throws
Competing with a full roster for the first time in a few seasons, the throws group are chasing big points this meet. Tyson Jones and Essence Henderson are slated to finish at or close to the top of the shot put, while Alexios Prodanas and Sara Killinen will shoot big for the Hokies in the weight throw.

Jumps
One of the tougher event groups, the Hokies' jump squads will try and break through with top ACC performances in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump. Aidan Clark, Elijah Bell, KJ Moore, and Chauncey Chambers will look to hit the podium for the men, while Rosie Cicmanec, Laurel Miller, and Eszter Bajnok will earn the points for the women.

Multi-Events
Ellie Vest enters a tough event, but on the back of her 800m career best last weekend looks set to snag a podium finish in the pentathlon. On the men's side in the heptathlon, four entrants will look to carry the Hokies. Jaelyn Demory is hungry for a medal after injury kept him out of last year's meet. Sean Murphy, James Holt, and exciting freshman Devin Daye-Schafer will also shoot for strong results in the heptathlon.

With action set to begin tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. in the heptathlon, followed by field events at 1 p.m. and track events at 5 p.m., the Hokies are ready to go on the hunt for a championship trophy once again.
