Hokies prepared for NCAA East Preliminary Rounds

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a week off from the ACC Outdoor Championships, the Virginia Tech track and field teams are ready for the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds in Jacksonville, Florida.
 
The three day meet begins on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. ET with the men's hammer throw at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.
 
FloTrack will produce the on-air broadcast for all three days. Viewers must be a FloTrack subscriber to watch and can sign up here.

The Hokies will have 25 student-athletes competing in Jacksonville, with the distance group being the largest of the five disciplines with eight making the trek to the Sunshine State.

The top 12 in each region's event will qualifying for the NCAAs in Austin, Texas.
 
Coming into the meet, Tech boasts four women who own a time or mark inside the top 12, while the men own five times or marks.
 
The last time out at the NCAA East Preliminary, Tech had 34 student-athletes qualify for Tampa, Florida, and went on to send 14 to Eugene, Oregon.
