ACC announces seeds for the 2019 ACC Wrestling Championships

2019 ACC Wrestling Championship Brackets Buy 2019 ACC Wrestling Championships Tickets!

BLACKSBURG – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the seeding for the 2019 ACC Wrestling Championships, which will be hosted by Virginia Tech this Saturday, March 9, in Cassell Coliseum.
 
Virginia Tech, the two-time defending ACC champion, leads all schools with three No. 1 seeds in redshirt freshman Mekhi Lewis at 165 pounds, redshirt junior David McFadden at 174 and redshirt senior Zack Zavatsky 184. Seeds were determined by a vote of the league's six head coaches.
 
Here's where the Hokies were seeded at the other weights: No. 3 Joey Prata (125), No. 4 Korbin Myers (133), No. 2 Mitch Moore (141), No. 4 Ryan Blees (149), No. 3 B.C. LaPrade (157), No. 2 Tom Sleigh (197), No. 3 Billy Miller (285). The complete seeding list can be found below and brackets for the tournament can be found here.
 
Action begins at 11 a.m. Saturday. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults. Admission is free for youth 18 and under. ACC students are admitted free with a valid student ID. The doors to Cassell Coliseum will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with first-round action kicking off the event at 11 a.m.  Semifinals are set for 1 p.m., followed by the consolation semifinals at 3:30 p.m. and the consolation finals at 5 p.m. Championship matches begin at 7 p.m., followed by the awards presentation.
 
ACC Network Extra again plans nearly 10 hours of live coverage from 11 a.m. through 9 p.m. Matches will be delivered on two concurrent live streams. Shawn Kenney and Tim Foley will handle the call on Mat 1, with Dean Linke and Rock Harrison manning Mat 2.
