Hokies receive seeds for NCAA Wrestling Championships

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech's nine qualifiers for the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championships have received their seeds for next week's tournament in Pittsburgh that runs from March 21-23, the NCAA announced Wednesday.
 
Four Hokies earned top 10 seeds at their respective weights. Redshirt freshman Mekhi Lewis will be the No. 8 seed at 165 pounds, redshirt junior David McFadden is seeded sixth at 174, redshirt senior Zack Zavatsky is the three-seed at 184 and redshirt senior Tom Sleigh is the No. 10 seed at 197. For Zavatsky, he has earned a top-five seed at nationals for the third time in his career, the most in program history.
