Justin Morton joined the men’s soccer staff as the program’s director of operations in August of 2025.
Morton is a seasoned soccer coach and former collegiate rugby and soccer player with a distinguished athletic and coaching career. As a student-athlete at Bryan College, he was a four-time starter at 8-man for the rugby team, earning East Tennessee All-Conference honors twice and leading the college all-time in tries scored while also playign forward for the soccer team, starting for two seasons from 2008 to 2010.
He began his coaching career as an assistant for the Bryan College Soccer Reserve Team in 2011, helping lead the squad to the championship match, defeating Covenant College 2-1. From 2012 to 2014, he served as Executive Director of Soccer at Longevity Sports Center, overseeing player development programs and competitive training initiatives.
In 2016, as head coach at Wesleyan Christian Academy, Morton guided his middle school team to a state championship. In 2017, he began his collegiate coaching career at Bluefield University as an assistant coach, where he recorded a 16-7 season, defeating Campbell University for the NCCAA Mid-East Regional Championship, and earned several accolades for his players, including:
Most recently, he achieved success at the club level with Charlotte Soccer Academy, winning multiple tournaments in 2023, and served as assistant coach for the USL2 Charlotte Lady Eagles in 2024. His career reflects a commitment to developing athletes, fostering team success, and excelling in soccer at the collegiate, high school, and club levels.
Justin currently resides in Blacksburg, VA with his wife, Katie, and three children Elia, Rylee, and Kayden.
