Andrew Stone was hired by Virginia Tech in August 2024 as the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic sports. He will oversee all strength and conditioning needs for Tech’s baseball and wrestling programs. Stone joins the Hokies after serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for football at the University of Memphis, where he assisted the team in achieving four straight bowl game berths and a 10-win season in the 2023-2024 season.
Prior to joining Memphis in January of 2020, Stone worked with the NFL's Carolina Panthers as a year-long strength and conditioning intern in 2019.
Stone took the position with the NFL team after spending five years as part of the program at Virginia Tech. He started at Virginia Tech as an Olympic Sports strength and conditioning intern. He served in that role from 2015 to 2017, when he was named a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning for Olympic Sports. During his original tenure at Virginia Tech, Stone was an assistant strength coach for wrestling and baseball, as well as, several additional sports.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition ('16) and a Masters of Arts in Instructional Technology ('19) - both from Virginia Tech.
A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Stone owns certifications in CSCCA, NSCA, and CPR/AED.
