Macaulay Soto joined the Virginia Tech women’s soccer program in 2017 as the team's Director of Operations and the 2020 season will mark her fourth with the Hokies.
With the Hokies, Soto is in charge of a wide range of tasks. She adds to the program culture with team and individual development. She manages the recruiting database and works with the equipment and video departments and is in charge of team travel and meals.
Soto came to Blacksburg after a season at Carthage College in Wisconsin, where she served as a graduate assistant and recruiting coordinator. At Carthage, she was the interim head coach during the spring. She also performed one-on-one mentoring with focus on leadership and player development.
Prior to Carthage, Soto worked as an intern in the athletic department at Purdue during the summer of 2014. With the Boilermakers, Soto worked with numerous departments, including fundraising, marketing and promotions and men’s basketball.
Soto is a 2016 graduate of Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. At Messiah, she was a four-year letter winner in soccer, where she earned a degree in public relations. During her playing days at Messiah, the Falcons won the 2012 NCAA Division III national championship and advanced to the final four in 2015. Soto was a two-time conference defensive player of the year and was named an NSCAA All-American in 2014 and 2015.
