Lauren joined the CAMP staff in 2018.  Prior to her joining us full-time, she worked at Cook Counseling Center.  During her 5 years at Cook, she worked closely with our department and provided counseling for many of our student-athletes.  Currently, Lauren is an Assistant Director for CAMP and works part-time.  Lauren graduated from Mount St. Mary's University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and was a student-athlete.  She completed a Master's degree in Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, VA, where she practiced for the next 5 years before making the move to Blacksburg.  Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association of Applied Sport Psychology.  She specializes in treating disordered eating and body image concerns in athletes, trauma, and sexual assault.  Lauren's areas of interest include mindfulness and embodiment, biofeedback, and relationship work.  In CAMP, Lauren's duties include providing individual and group therapy, team sessions and programming, outreach, and consultation with coaches and staff.
