Hokie ClubPrior to Virginia Tech: Member of the All-PAC12 Team... (2021-22) Competed unattached in three meets during the outdoor season…established a season best of 3:49.20 in the open section of the 1500 meters at the Hayward Premiere (April 2); finished second…also clocked a time of 1:54.13 over 800 meters at the Premiere meet…closed out the year with a 3:49.29 over 1500 meters at the Oregon Twilight (May 6)…did not compete during the indoor season... (2022-23) Indoor – made lone appearance at the Ken Shannon Invitational with a time of 14:41.53 at 5,000 meters. Outdoor – finished third at 1500 meters in 3:51.75 at the season-opening Oregon Preview… clocked in at 3:51.72 to finish fourth in section five of the 1500 meters at the Stanford Invitational…lowered season best by two seconds to 3:49.52 at the Bryan Clay Invitational; finished in 53rd place overall… established a personal best of 3:46.31 in a runner-up showing over 1500 meters at the Oregon Twilight.
High School: Four-time VHSL Class 5 state champion during the 2021 season … swept the 1600- and 3200-meter indoor titles indoors … established a new lifetime best of 9:35.17 in winning the 3200m title … added two more state titles at the outdoor meet with wins at 800 and 1600 meters … posted PRs of 1:55.53 and 4:18.87 in both events … three top-10 finishes at 2020 VHSL Class 5 Indoor State Championships … individually, placed third in the 1600 meters and ninth over 1,000 meters … runner-up with Skyhawks’ 4x800-meter relay at the state indoor meet … ran a then-best of 2:34.65 over 1,000 meters at the 2020 VA Showcase … lowered 1,000m PR to 2:29.83 … also carries a personal best of 4:14.11 in the mile.
Personal: Son of Brandyn and Jason Affolder... Has four siblings, Murphy, Noah, Sam, and Hope... Brothers, Murphy, Noah and Sam all ran track and field in college... Majoring in philosophy, politics, and economics.
