BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech volleyball fell to No. 25 North Carolina in straight sets on Friday night at Cassell Coliseum, 25-11, 25-18, 25-16.

The Hokies stayed within one point at 10-9 in the opening set before North Carolina closed on a 15-2 run to take the set, 25-11. Tech responded in the second, recording 13 kills and hitting .194, but the Tar Heels secured a 25-18 win. Virginia Tech added six kills in the third set before UNC closed out the match, 25-16.

IzzyMishler led the Hokies offensively with five kills on .286 hitting, adding two service aces and two block assists. Layla Moore contributed four kills without an error, hitting .667, while Frances Torres and Adeline Hundl also recorded four kills apiece.

Camilla Brandalise paced the offense with 13 assists and added six digs. Reese Hazelton led Tech defensively with 16 digs, followed by Destiny Walker with 13 and Ivy Cooper with 12.

Virginia Tech finished with 23 kills and a .009 hitting percentage, while North Carolina hit .293 and recorded 42 kills.

The Hokies move to 4-10 overall and 1-4 in ACC play.
