ATLANTA — Virginia Tech fell to Georgia Tech, 3-0 (25-8, 25-20, 25-13), Friday night at O’Keefe Gym in its first ACC match of the 2026 season.

The Hokies were led offensively by Frances Torres, who recorded nine kills. Destiny Walker added seven kills on .261 hitting, while Izzy Mishler chipped in three kills and two blocks.

Georgia Tech jumped out to an early lead in the opening set, taking a 5-1 advantage before extending its lead to 12-4. The Yellow Jackets continued to build momentum, eventually taking the first set, 25-8.

Tech battled back in the second set, keeping pace early before Georgia Tech pulled ahead. The Hokies fought to close the gap, cutting the deficit to one at 16-15 before the Yellow Jackets regained control and took the set, 25-20.

Torres opened the third set with a kill before adding a service ace later in the frame as the Hokies stayed within striking distance early. Georgia Tech eventually created separation and closed out the match with a 25-13 third-set victory.
