BLACKSBURG – Blacksburg will come alive as the annual Hokie Hi: Weekend at Home returns to campus from April 16 to April 19! Tech fans should be sure to visit during what promises to be a thrilling four days of excitement.
From sporting events to campus-wide celebrations, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in Blacksburg. Read below to see how you can be prepared for your trip during Hokie Hi: Weekend at Home starting this Thursday.
- Eagle Construction Spring Game – Virginia Tech Football’s 2026 Spring Game will take place at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 18, marking the first time head coach James Franklin and company will take Worsham Field in Lane Stadium. The afternoon contest is free and open to the public, giving interested audiences a chance to receive a glimpse of what’s to come when the Hokies take the field in competition later this September.
The 2026 Spring Game serves as the centerpiece of the weekend, coinciding with a plethora of events across the weekend that fans won’t want to miss. Gates 1 through 6 will open for the event at 1 p.m. For more information on timelines, visit the Hokie Hi landing page.
- Parking – As many members of Hokie Nation arrive in Blacksburg for Hokie Hi: Weekend at Home, it’s imperative that fans of maroon and orange know where – and when – vehicles can be parked. On Saturday, parking on the Blacksburg campus will not require a daily fee payment or a parking pass, giving fans opportunities to be close to the action in and around southwest Virginia. - Pregame Activities – Hokie fans should be sure to enjoy a wide variety of pregame festivities and commemorations before the action kicks off at the Spring Game this upcoming Saturday.
3.2 for 32: Run in Rememberance
The Virginia Tech community will come together on Saturday morning to remember and honor the vibrant lives of 32 students and faculty who were taken from us in 2007. The event itself will start with a moment of silence at 9 a.m. ET, followed by a 3.2-mile run around the Virginia Tech campus. The loop passes through various iconic campus buildings and landmarks, making the run one that connects the community through healing and commemoration. Registration for the event is still open.
Hokie Village
The Hokie Village will make its first appearance of the James Franklin Era on Saturday, opening its doors to the public at 11:30 a.m. and running through 2:15 p.m. From inflatables to yard games, there’s something for every member of your Hokie family to enjoy. Farm Use, a Virginia Tech student band rooted in country and rock and roll, will be performing live. Additionally, be sure to stop by Monster Energy for free drink samples.
Hokie Walk
Join the Virginia Tech Hokies on Beamer Way at 12:30 p.m. as they enter Lane Stadium for the 2026 Spring Game. Show your support as head coach James Franklin and company prepare for their first appearance ahead of the 2026 season!
Team FastTrax Skydivers + Pregame Show
Get to your seats in Lane Stadium at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 18 as Team FastTrax Skydivers soar through the sky and land on Worsham Field. The aerial artists will be jumping as a pregame show – which features performances from the Virginia Tech Spirit Squads and various band ensembles – takes place before kickoff. 
- Additional Sporting Events – Hokie fans will have the opportunity to catch a host of exciting sporting events throughout Hokie Hi: Weekend at Home. Virginia Tech Baseball, Softball and Lacrosse are all competing at home this weekend, giving audiences an opportunity to enjoy a mix of athletics over four days.
On Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m. ET, Tech lacrosse will face off against state rival Virginia in the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash at Thompson Field. The Hokies will close their season against the Cavaliers on Thursday, and admission to the event is free.
Just a day later, Virginia Tech Baseball and Softball share the spotlight in Blacksburg as their respective games kick off at 6 p.m. ET on Friday, April 17. Friday’s contest marks the start of a three-game set against Pitt for Tech baseball, while Tech softball – which sits at a staggering 36-6 record – will face Georgia Tech at Tech Softball Park. Tickets for baseball are still available for purchase, while softball competition is free and open to the public.
Baseball’s three-game series against Pitt will continue at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 19. Softball will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

Nearly every competition taking place over the four days of Hokie Hi: Weekend at Home will feature world-class concessions. From bacon, egg and grilled cheeses to mimosas, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as teams take the field in Blacksburg! Make sure to bring your credit or debit card to use at the concessions stands, as all sales are cashless.
