Hokie ClubCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Senior Nick Plant was named the ACC Men’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week following a record-breaking showing at the Doc Hale Invitational on Feb. 7, the conference announced Tuesday.
Plant posted a personal-best 2:17.80 in the 1,000 meters to uphold his status as Virginia Tech’s all-time leader in the event. His performance ranks No. 5 on the NCAA all-time list, and he finished as the top collegiate athlete in the race.
The senior also contributed to the Hokies’ first-place finish in the men’s 4x400 relay, splitting 48.79 as the team recorded a season-best time of 3:17.66.
