Blacksburg, Va. – Denzs Simmonds secured the No. 9 spot in Virginia Tech’s all-time list, alongside multiple podium finishes for the Hokies to wrap up the final day of the Hokie Invitational.
Simmonds competed in the shot put and hit a personal-best mark of 17.94m (58’ 10.25”), which was good for first among collegiate athletes in the event, and secured the No. 9 spot on the program’s all-time list.
On the women’s side, Katrin Brzyszkowska also finished first in the shot put with a throw of 16.42m (53’ 10.5”). This marks her second consecutive win in the event this season.
Field event podiums kept coming as Chiara Sistermann soared to a season-best 4.27m (14’), marking her third consecutive pole vault win of the season.
