BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech men’s basketball head coach Mike Young announced Friday the signing of Solomon Davis, a 6-foot-11 center from DeMatha Catholic (Md.).

Davis was sidelined during portions of last year’s AAU circuit due to injury. However, his recent performances with Virginia Elite have highlighted his growth and versatility, showcasing his potential as a high-impact collegiate big.

“Solomon is a tremendous addition to our program," Young said. "At 6-foot-11, he brings size, athleticism and a motor that doesn't stop. He’s just beginning to tap into his potential, and what stands out most is his hunger to learn and his love for the game. Solomon is eager to grow, and we’re just as excited to help him develop here in Blacksburg.”

A skilled post player with a high ceiling, Davis brings size, athleticism, and long-term potential to the Hokies’ frontcourt rotation that currently features Amani Hansberry, Tobi Lawal, Antonio Dorn and Christian Gurdak.

Davis joins fellow high school signees Gurdak, Sin’Cere Jones and Brett Freeman in Virginia Tech’s 2025 recruiting class, bringing added size and balance to a versatile group.
