BLACKSBURG – The Hokies swept their fourth straight ACC series with a 15-1 win against Notre Dame on Sunday night at Tech Softball Park.

The Hokies hit four home runs to propel past the Fighting Irish.

How It Happened: Virginia Tech 15, Notre Dame 1 (5 inn.)
After a quick first inning for Sophie Kleiman in the circle, Cori McMillan sent one to the moon as her 19th home run of the season gave the Hokies an early 1-0 lead. Michelle Chatfield capitalized on a Notre Dame pass ball later in the inning and sprinted home for the 2-0 lead.

A single up the middle by Kylie Aldridge scored Jordan Lynch for the third run of the inning and a wild pitch led Bre Peck to reach home safely.

With runners on first and second, Trinity Martin sent her second home run of the season to right field to extend the Hokie lead to 7-0 in the bottom of the first. A Chatfield single up the middle brought in McMillan for the final run of an eight-run first inning.

It was the first time the Hokies scored eight runs in the first inning since playing NC State on April 7, 2024.

After back-to-back RBI singles by the Hokies to start the bottom of the third, Zoe Yaeger blasted a three-run home run to left field to make it a 14-1 contest. Immediately after, Martin sent her second home run of the day over the right field wall to make it 15-1 Hokies after three innings.

Kleiman was lights out in the circle as she struck out three batters and only allowed three hits in her 10th win of the season.
