Tech battles, but falls short to ODU

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech kept it close all match, but ultimately came up short 4-3. 

After dropping the doubles point, the Hokies battled back to keep themselves in the match. Tech bounced back with the first singles win, Maxime St. Hilaire picking up a 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4) victory. Patrik Jurina then put the Hokies on top after winning 7-6 (7), 7-5. 

The Monarchs took the next singles point, but Alberto Orso was victorious in the following match, taking home a 0-6, 7-6 (2), 6-1 win. Old Dominion went on to win the next two, securing the match. 

The Hokies stay home in Blacksburg next Friday, Feb. 14, for a Valentine’s Day match against Tulane.
