PITTSBURGH - The Virginia Tech women's basketball team earned it's largest ACC victory of the season Thursday night with a 84-57 triumph over Pitt. The Hokies, who played perhaps their most complete game of the ACC slate thus far, turned the ball over just six times, tying the program record for the fewest in a single game.
The Hokies are 14-5 (5-3) ahead of a clash at No. 20 NC State Sunday. Pitt falls to 9-12 (1-7) with the result.
All five starters scored in double figures in the game, led by Carleigh Wenzel who had 16. Rose Micheaux tallied a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds, helping the Hokies secure 51 total boards.
Tech assisted on 21 of 32 field goal attempts, and went 13-for-26 from beyond the arc.
