BLACKSBURG - The Hokies (7-20, 1-16 ACC) fell to Notre Dame (11-15, 4-13 ACC) in five sets (20-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 9-15) on Friday evening.

GAME NOTES

  • Belle Patrick boasted her fourth career double-double against the Fighting Irish, tallying 13 kills and tying her career-high of 14 digs. Along with her double-double, Patrick reached a career-high four total blocks in the match.
  • Leandra Mangual Duran notched her first double-double of the season and her fourth career with a season-high 16 kills and 16 digs.  The outside hitter and defensive specialist also boasted a perfect serve-receive outing with 18 flawless receptions, her 17th match this season with a perfect record.
  • Leading defense at the net was Jordan Hallman, with her 17th match of the season with three or more total blocks.  The middle blocker boasted the match-high of seven block assists.
  • Following Hallman's defensive efforts at the net were Jasmine Robinson and Hailey Pearce with six block assists apiece.  Robinson tied her career-high while Pearce recorded her ninth match of the season with multiple blocks.
  • Pearce also recorded her 14th match of the season with double-digit kills, collecting 15 in the match, her sixth match with 15 or more.
  • Sierra Cates tied her career-high of 10 digs while boasting a perfect day on serve-receive with 18 flawless receptions.
  • Erica Dellesky notched a career-high seven digs with 18 assists versus the Fighting Irish.
  • Viktoria Wahlgren collected the match-high of 32 assists with seven digs and one kill
  • Four Hokies were able to dish an ace against the ACC foe, with Viktoria Wahlgren and Pearce leading with two each while Patrick and Mangual Duran tallied one apiece.
  • Tech totaled 55 kills, 53 assists, 66 digs, 28 total blocks and six aces.  This is the second match of the season in which 28 or more blocks have been recorded.

The Hokies welcome No. 3 Louisville to Cassell Coliseum on Sunday, November 24 at 1 p.m. for a senior day celebration, where Leandra Mangual Duran will be honored for her contributions to the program.
