Basketball in Blacksburg is back in action, as both Virginia Tech men’s and women’s basketball begin their respective seasons on Monday, Nov. 4 at Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum.
Monday will feature a doubleheader for Hokie Nation, starting at 5 p.m. ET with the women’s team taking on UNC Wilmington and the men’s squad facing Delaware State at 8 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets to the women’s game and click here to purchase tickets to the men’s contest.
Get ready for gameday with five things to know for the two matchups.
1. Parking
Due to the first game on Monday being an earlier tip time than normal weeknight games, parking lots will be busy, so please plan accordingly. Fans are encouraged to park in the lots they are assigned to. In the event that Lot 1 (Cassell Coliseum Lot) is full, all fans will be redirected to either Lot 2 or Lot 5. Click here to see the basketball parking map.
2. Arena Clearance
All fans will have to depart Cassell Coliseum following the conclusion of the women's basketball game and will then be able to re-enter as soon as possible with their men's ticket. This applies to all fans and students, including fans in premium areas and fans with tickets to both events.
3. Gates Reopening
We expect the women's basketball game to conclude around 7 p.m., with gates for the men's basketball game reopening by 7:30 p.m. at the earliest.
4. Cassell Seats Renumbered
Announced last year, Cassell Coliseum’s seating was renumbered to improve fan navigation on gameday. Sections and seat numbers will change to sequential order while the rows will stay the same.
Virginia Tech Athletics recommends that fans familiarize themselves ahead of time to ensure a smooth trip to their seats. View the maps by clicking here to get acquainted with the new process.
5. Your Phone Being Prepared is Crucial
Be sure to download your mobile ticket to your wallet before you arrive at the arena. This eliminates the variable of not being able to download due to poor Wi-Fi connection outside the arena. Click here for more information on downloading mobile tickets.
Fans can download their tickets through the HokieSports mobile app. Click here to download the HokieSports mobile app.
Cassell Coliseum is a mobile-first and cashless venue when it comes to ticketing and concessions. Once inside, only a credit or debit card will be accepted at the concession stands for those wanting to purchase food and drink.
Have tickets and can't make the game? Mobile tickets can be easily transferred to peers or can also be listed with peace of mind on SeatGeek, the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of Virginia Tech Athletics.
(Bonus) 6. A New Era
Join us for A New Era Night, where fans, families and students will kick off the Virginia Tech women’s basketball season with new head coach Megan Duffy leading the charge.
