BLACKSBURG – The ACC office revealed the first league game for each men's basketball team Monday evening on ACC PM, with Virginia Tech hosting Pitt on Saturday, Dec. 7 inside Cassell Coliseum. The game will be televised by ESPNU.

Additionally, the previously-announced SEC/ACC Challenge matchup with Vanderbilt on Wednesday, Dec. 4, also in Blacksburg, will tip at 9:15 p.m. ET and will be televised by ACC Network.

Tech will open ACC competition at home for the fifth straight season. It will be the 22nd all-time meeting with the Panthers. The Hokies lead the series 12-9, including an 8-1 mark at home. Pitt finished 22-11 overall, 12-8 in the ACC, narrowly missing a berth in the 2024 NCAA tournament.

VT is 4-1 in ACC openers under head coach Mike Young.

As announced in June, Tech will welcome Vanderbilt to Cassell Coliseum for the eighth all-time meeting between the two programs. It will be the first time Tech and Vandy have met since Dec. 22, 1977. The Hokies lead the head-to-head series, 5-2. This will be the third meeting in series history in Blacksburg (2-0).

The 2024-25 ACC men’s basketball schedule will be unveiled during a one-hour Nothing But Net primetime special on Tuesday, Sept. 24 on ACC Network. The special will provide a first look at the ACC game dates, times and networks for the season, breaking down key rivalries and top matchups ahead of the ACC’s first season as an 18-team conference.

Taylor Tannebaum will host the men's schedule release at 8 p.m. alongside analysts Luke Hancock, Seth Greenberg and Randolph Childress.
