BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech is set to host Vanderbilt in the second annual SEC/ACC Challenge as announced by ESPN, Wednesday afternoon. The eighth all-time meeting between the two programs will take place Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum.

December's matchup will be the first time Tech and Vandy have met since Dec. 22, 1977. The Hokies lead the head-to-head series, 5-2. This will be the third meeting in series history in Blacksburg (2-0).
Vanderbilt is led by head coach Mark Byington, who is a Salem, Va., native and enters his first season at the helm in Nashville, Tenn. The Commodores concluded last season with a 9-23 overall record, including a 4-14 SEC mark. In addition to Byington, it will be a homecoming for former Tech guards MJ Collins and Tyler Nickel, who are in their first season at Vandy.
The Hokies' full nonconference schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
