Men's tennis kicks off fall competition

Tech competed in the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. starting on Sept. 21

DAY 2- 

Tulsa, Okla. - Maxime St. Hilaire won in R64 Prequalifying Consolation against Kristof Minarik of Wichita State University. He won in two sets, going 7-6 in the first set, 7-3 in the tiebreaker, and completing the win in the second set 6-1. 

Alberto Orso dropped the singles match against Constantinos Djakouris from UNC Chapel Hill by a score of 2-6, 4-6.

Maxime St. Hilaire and Frank Thompson fell short in their doubles match against Auburn's Billy Blaydes and William Nolan 4-6, 5-7. 

 

DAY 1 - 

Tulsa, Okla. - Virginia Tech sent three Hokies to Oklahoma to compete in the ITA All-American Championships. The tournament started on Sept. 21.

Alberto Orso, Maxime St. Hilaire, and Frank Thompson competed on Saturday. Orso and St. Hilaire played in singles and St. Hilaire and Thompson played together in doubles. 

Orso advanced to the second round winning 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 against Pablo Perez Ramos from New Jersey Inst. Of Tech. 

Thompson and St. Hilaire completed a three-set victory over Princeton duo Inchauspe and Ardila. They won the first set 7-6, going 7-5 in the tiebreaker. They dropped the second set 6-4, but bounced back to win 10-5 in the third.
