BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech (3-4) fell to the Cleveland State Vikings (6-2) in three sets on Saturday night.

GAME NOTES

  • Belle Patrick and Hailey Pearce each reached double-digit kills for the second consecutive match.  Patrick collected 15 and Pearce totaled 14 with both hitting above .300.
  • Viktoria Wahlgren totaled 34 assists, averaging 11.33 per set, her highest average of the season.  Wahlgren also led the squad in block assists with two in the match.
  • Leandra Mangual Duran and Elizabeth Aylward both saw perfect reception records into the double-digits, leading the team in serve-receive.  Mangual Duran also led back row defense with the squad-high of nine digs.
  • Wahlgren, Jasmine Robinson and Aisha Keric each dished an ace against the Vikings.  Keric has recorded a service ace in six of the seven matches so far this season.
  • Tech totaled 47 kills, 42 assists, 43 digs, four block assists and three aces.

UP NEXT

The Hokies will face UNC Greensboro in the final match of the Hokie Invitational on Saturday, September 14 at 3:30 p.m. on the Carilion Court in Cassell Coliseum.
