Men's tennis earns five ITA Scholar-Athlete honorees

Hokies also named ITA All-Academic Team

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2024 Division I Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams on Monday, revealing five Virginia Tech student-athletes.

Alberto Orso, Benjamin Pomeranets, Ryan Fishback, Ryan Morgan and Frank Thompson were the Scholar-Athlete honorees.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

The Hokies were also an All-Academic Team, recognizing they have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, while all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

Note: Frank Thompson was added to the ITA's 2024 Division I Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athletes later on Monday.
