GREENSBORO, N.C. – In a low-scoring quarterfinal bout, top-seeded Virginia Tech women's basketball defeated ninth-seeded Miami (Fla.) 55-47 on Friday in the ACC Tournament at Greensboro Coliseum.
Guard Georgia Amoore led the way for the Hokies (23-6, 14-4 ACC) with a game-high 27 points, including going 10-for-12 from the charity stripe.
With the win, Tech will face fourth-seeded Notre Dame (24-6, 13-5) on Saturday at noon ET on ACC Network in the semifinals. Interested in attending the game on Saturday? Tickets start at $28.
The other Hokie in double figures was forward Clara Strack, who went 5-of-11 from the field for 10 points and also pulled down five rebounds. Forward Olivia Summiel owned a team-high eight rebounds, while guard Carleigh Wenzel dished out a team-best five assists.
Tech held the Hurricanes (19-12, 8-10) to just one made 3-pointer and forced the U into 13 turnovers.

Before the game, sideline reporter Angel Gray said that head coach Kenny Brooks told her that center Elizabeth Kitley will be out the entire ACC Tournament and re-evaluated next week ahead of the NCAA Tournament.
