Lemley named ACC Pitcher of the Week for third straight week

Pledge Per K

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the third straight week, Virginia Tech softball's Emma Lemley has earned ACC Pitcher of the Week after going 3-0 over her three appearances. This is the first time since Keely Rochard in 2020 that a pitcher has earned the award for three straight weeks.

Lemley recorded wins over Mount St. Mary's and two wins over North Carolina. The right-hander came on in relief in the game two win over the Mount, throwing two scoreless innings and striking out four to earn the win.

In the wins over North Carolina, Lemley went the distance in games one and three, allowing only two total runs against the Tar Heels, with one of them earned. She struck out 22 Tar Heels in her 14 innings of work. On the weekend, Lemley finished with a .44 ERA with 26 strikeouts in her two appearances.

Both games against the Tar Heels saw Lemley with 10+ strikeouts, marking her sixth game this season with at least 10 Ks. In the game two win, Lemley held onto the Hokies 3-0 lead in the first inning, allowing no earned runs, to clinch the ACC series for Tech.

On the season, her ERA sits at a 1.58 in her 13 appearances, tallying 125 strikeouts to rank first in the ACC and second nationally. She is also first in the ACC in strikeouts per seven innings with 10.9, as well as first in the conference and third nationally with 12 wins.
