COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Hokies finished day two of the Ohio State Invitational with more times added to the top 10 board. 

HIGHLIGHTS

Women

Freshman Carmen Weiler Sastre brought back her power for day two. She started off the day strong in the 200 free during the preliminary round with a time of 1:46.02, becoming Tech's fifth fastest time in school history. She later went on to beat that time in finals, finishing third with a time of 1:45.18. This time is currently third on the top 10 board. She also swam the 100 back with a time of 53.12 in the preliminary round, making it on the top 10 board and again beating that time in finals with 52.71, placing fourth overall. Her finals time in the 100 back is fourth in school history. Weiler Sastre's 200 medley lead off time in the 50 back was 25.17, making it in the sixth spot on the top 10 board.

Emma Atkinson, Fanni Gyurinovics, Karisa Franz and Madelyn Moore made it on the top 10 board in the 200 medley relay, swimming a time of 1:38.06 placing seventh in finals. This time is currently the third fastest time in school history. 

On the boards, Izzi Mroz placed ninth in the 1-meter event with a score of 269.65, qualifying for finals. She finished finals with a score of  256.25, placing 11th. 

Men

The men's relays continue to be strong. During finals, Forest Webb, Carles Coll Marti, Youssef Ramadan and Luis Dominguez placed second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:24.21, making it on the top 10 board. This time is currently the fifth fastest time in school history. 

Carles Coll Marti showed his speed, placing second in the men's 100 breast during finals with a time of 52.19. Teammate, Mario Molla Yanes, placed fifth in the 100 fly with a final time of 46.37.

On the boards, Noah Zawadzki qualified for finals with a score of 355.75, placing 11th. He finished with a score of 331.50, placing 12th in the finals. 

TOMORROW

Day three will follow the same schedule as days one and two, but with diving prelims beginning at 11:00 am. The 1650 free will be swam at approximately 3:00 pm. There will one relay (finals only) in the 400 free relay. The individual events will be the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast and 200 fly. The men and women divers will be diving platform.
