Tech continues good form at FGCU's Bonita Bay Classic

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team wrapped up competition at FGCU's Bonita Bay Classic on Sunday in Bonita Bay, Fla.

Day 3
Jordan Chrysostom and Matt Harper picked up where they left off notching a 6-1 win against Nebraska's Nic Wiedenhorn and William Gleason. Alvaro Ariza capped off an undefeated weekend in singles with a 6-3, 6-3 victory on court one. Hugo Maia and Manuel Goncalves continued the trend, winning in straight sets.
DAY 2
Alvaro Ariza and Frank Thompson teamed up in doubles for a tiebreak when in doubles, 7-6 (3). In singles, seven of eight Hokies competing picked up wins against opponents from FGCU.
DAY 1
Alvaro Ariza earned an impressive win against Memphis' David Stevenson, who was ranked No. 125 in the ITA's preseason rankings, in straight sets. In doubles, Alvaro paired up with Frank Thompson claiming a hard-fought 77-63 win over challengers from FGCU. Matt Harper finished the day with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over FGCU's Carter Bradford.
