The 13th-ranked Virginia Tech women's basketball team is back home on Carilion Clinic Court Friday night to take on the Bucknell Bison.
 
THE SERIES

  • VT is 1-0 all-time against Bucknell, with the first meeting coming in November of 2013. The Hokies won that contest 87-49 behind 21 points from Uju Ugoka. 

A WIN WOULD...
·       Move the Hokies' record to 2-0 for the eighth straight season. 
·       Be Tech's third consecutive non- conference victory at home. 
 
KING SHINES ON OPENING NIGHT
·       Cayla King's 33-point effort on opening night is tied for the seventh- most points that a VT athlete has scored in a game. 
·       King made a program record nine triples against The Mount, breaking her former teammate Aisha Sheppard's mark. She had made eight on two occasions. Jeni Garber had also made eight in one contest in 1991. 
·       She moved into eighth place all-time at VT in career 3's with 154, passing Taylor Emery who posted 146 in her two seasons in Blacksburg.
