GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech swept ACC awards this week with Emma Atkinson and Izzi Mroz earning Co-Swimmer and Co-Diver of the Week after their performances against Ohio State.
Junior Emma Atkinson continues to dominate backstroke, taking home two first place wins over the weekend. After her performance against Ohio State, Atkinson's 200 back time of 1:54.67 is currently third in the nation. She was also a part of the 400 free relay group that swam a time of 3:18.32 and is currently seventh in the nation.
After winning ACC Co-Diver of the Week at the beginning of October, Izzi Mroz proceeds to have strong performances on the boards. She placed first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events with final scores of 318.00 and 299.63.
These are Virginia Tech's fourth and fifth ACC honors of the season.
