GREENSBORO, N.C. – After their stellar performances in the water on Saturday, Youssef Ramadan earns ACC Swimmer of the Week and Izzi Mroz is named Co-Diver of the Week.
Ramadan placed first in the men's 100 fly with a final time of 46.43 and the 50 free with a final time of 19.74 this past weekend. The Eqypt native was also a part of the 200 medley relay placing second, just shy of first place.
His sophomore year, Ramadan earned All-American honors in the 100 fly and 50 free. Owning these events, he placed first in the ACC's last season in the 100 fly with a time of 44.08 and third in the 50 free with a time of 18.87.
Mroz took a strong lead on the boards during Saturday's meet. She placed first in the 1-meter event with a score of 291.70 and first in the 3-meter event with 317.10, winning both events with an average of 22 points ahead of second place.
Last season, the Coloradan placed second in the 1-meter and 3-meter competition against Penn State and George Washington.
Ramadan and Mroz will compete with the Hokies next at their meet against Duke in Durham, N.C. on Oct. 22 at 2 p.m.
