BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech women's golf head coach Carol Robertson revealed her program's 2022-23 schedule Friday. The schedule features nine regular-season events, including a pair of new trips for the Hokies.
Tech will once again make the trip to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate, Sept. 19-20. The following weekend, the Hokies will venture to Norman, Oklahoma for the Schooner Fall Classic (Sept. 24-26). The 54-hole events will be contested at Belmar Golf Club. Tech last played in Oklahoma during the 2019 NCAA Norman Regional.
The Hokies conclude the fall portion of the schedule at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational (Oct. 17-18) and the Landfall Tradition (Oct. 28-30).
Tech opens the 2023 slate with back-to-back events in the Sunshine State. First up is the second new tournament of the season – the UCF Challenge – at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Feb. 5-7. Two weeks later, the Hokies will tee it up at the Moon Golf Invitational (Feb. 19-21) at Suntree Country Club in Melbourne.
Rounding out the spring schedule will be stops at the Valspar Invitational (March 11-12), Clemson Invitational (March 24-26) and NC State Match Play (Apr. 3-4).
The 2023 ACC Women's Golf Championship will return to Sedgefield Country Club, Apr. 13-16, in Greensboro, N.C. Three rounds of stroke play on the first two days will cut the field to the low four teams for semifinals and finals of match play to determine the ACC champion.
The NCAA Regional round is May 8-10, with the NCAA Championship to be contested at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona for the third straight year, May 19-24. Tech will be seeking its fifth straight NCAA postseason appearance.
