Opens in a new window Final Leaderboard

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Former Virginia Tech women's golfer Keerattriya Foocharoen is heading to Stage II of LPGA Qualifying following a strong weekend of play in the desert of California.

The Thailand native, who just finished off a successful four-year career with the Hokies, shot a 10-under 278 (71-71-66-70) in the four-day Stage I event to tie for seventh place. Foocharoen and the 311-golfer field competed at Mission Hills Country Club and Shadow Ridge Golf Club over the 72 holes of competition. There was a 54-hole cut on Saturday, with everyone who shot 2-over-par or better moving on to Sunday's final round. The top 100 golfers and ties upon conclusion of Sunday's final round advanced to Stage II.

Foocharoen's spectacular performance secured her spot as one of 106 players to advance to Stage II, which will take place in Venice, Florida (October 18-21).

The 2022 Tech graduate is coming off a campaign in which she finished third on the team in scoring with an average of 75.21, and now becomes the third former member of head coach Carol Robertson's program to advance into the next stage of LPGA qualifying, with both Emily Mahar and Amanda Hollandsworth having done so back in 2021.

Jessica Spicer also competed in Stage I event, posting a 5-over 221 (70-76-75) to miss the 54-hole cut.
