Youssef Ramadan takes third in the 100 fly

ATLANTA – Virginia Tech brought strong performances to day three of the NCAA Championship. Youssef Ramadan came out strong, earning second in the 100 fly prelims. In the finals, he finished third overall, crushing his own school record. He touched the wall at 43.90, only two-tenths of a second behind first place. He earned his second All American Honors of the weekend. In the same event, Antani Ivanov finished 12th in the prelims. Later, he finished 15th overall in the final
 
AJ Pouch represented the Hokies in the 100 breast. He tied for 16th in the prelim after swimming a personal best. In the swim-off for a spot in the finals, Pouch came out on top. He then went on to place 15th in the final, swimming the second fastest time in program history and personal best, once again. 
 
Forest Webb started his morning with a school record in the 100 back. He touched the wall at 45.36, earning his spot in the final. In the final, he placed 16th with a time of 45.72. 
 
At the end of day three, the Hokies are in 11th, with a total of 89.5 points.

Sam Tornqvist and Forest Webb will start the day in the 200 back. Mario Molla Yanes and Youssef Ramadan will compete in the 100 free. For the third event, Carles Coll Marti and AJ Pouch will represent Virginia Tech in the 200 breast. Antani Ivanov will race in the 200 fly. Noah Zawadzki will compete in his third event on boards, the platform. Lastly, Filippo Dal Maso will swim in the 1650 free**. 
 
**The 1650 free will begin at 4pm. The final heat will begin at 6pm.
