Both relays earn All-American Honorable Mention

ATLANTA – The Hokies made their presence known at the NCAA Championship during night one of finals. The 200 medley relay finished in the Top 10, earning the first points of the week. The relay with Sam Tornqvist, Carles Coll Marti, Antani Ivanov, and Youssef Ramadan earned All-American Honorable Mention, finishing with a time of 1:22.92. 
 
The 800 free relay with Coll Marti, Ivanov, Luis Dominguez, and Mario Molla Yanes smashed the school record by three seconds, touching the wall at 6:11.85. The relay finished 10th, earning All-American Honorable Mention. 
 
Virginia Tech is currently 10th overall with 28 points.
 
TOMORROW
Filippo Dal Maso will start day two in the 500 free. Carles Coll Marti and Sam Tornqvist will compete in the second event, the 200 IM. Youssef Ramadan will close out the individual events in the 50 free. Noah Zawadzki will represent Virginia Tech on the boards for the 1-meter competition.
