BLACKSBURG – Leading up to its fourth spring ball practice, five Virginia Tech football players addressed the media on Wednesday during a press conference. Read what they had to say below.
RUNNING BACK JALEN HOLSTON
On how the first couple of spring ball practices have gone for him:
"The first few days have been really good. The new staff has really challenged us to work and a lot of guys have accepted that challenge. It's been great to showcase my skills to a new staff and am really excited for the rest of spring ball."
LINEBACKER ALAN TISDALE
On working with defensive coordinator Chris Marve:
"Coach Marve asks us to bring it every day. You have to bring your all. We take it day by day, with learning the installs and really going 100 percent every day."
DEFENSIVE LINEMAN NORELL POLLARD
On the vibe of the new coaching staff:
"I feel like it's been really good. Coach [Brent] Pry has really pushed us to be competitive. We try to compete in everything we do and try to have that drive to go out there and compete."

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN JESSE HANSON
On what he can say about offensive line coach Joe Rudolph:
"Coach Rudolph is like the most technical dude ever. He's a teacher and a do-it-the-right-way kind of guy. We've been stressing competing. But one thing Coach Rudolph tells us is that we're going to compete the right way. We're going to win by using the right technique."
LINEBACKER KESHON ARTIS
On being patient and waiting for playing time:
"My freshman year was kind of tough. But I've become more mature. Just being a backup, knowing my role with special teams. I think it was just maturity over the years."
