BLACKSBURG -- The Virginia Tech lacrosse team (7-4, 2-2) returns to Thompson Field to take on the Elon Phoenix on Wednesday, March 22 at 4 p.m. The game will be shown on ACC Network Extra.
The Hokies were beaten 17-5 this past Saturday by Syracuse, ending a five-game winning streak, their longest of the season. In that contest, graduate student Sarah Lubnow recorded her 69th career assist, setting a new program record.

THE SERIES
- VT and Elon have met six times with the Hokies winning five of those contests. In each of the last five seasons, these two clubs have met.

- Elon has faced two ACC teams already in Virginia and Duke. The Phoenix lost both of those contests.
CONNECTIONS
- The Phoenix have two former Hokies on their sideline as first year assistant coaches; Taylor Caskey and Amanda Mozier.
- Caskey played for four seasons at VT scoring 139 points and owning 55 assists, which ranks fourth-most all-time. She spent the 2021 season as a graduate assistant coach with VT after a season-ending injury.
- Mozier spent one season on the sidelines in Blacksburg (2021) as a volunteer assistant coach.
