BLACKSBURG -- The Virginia Tech women's basketball team (10-3, 2-0) returns to the floor on Sunday, January 2 for a tilt against Wake Forest (11-2, 1-1).
Tech defeated No. 15 Duke 77-55 Thursday night at Cassell, registering the program's largest margin of victory over a ranked team ever. The Hokies also set a program record for the most free throws in a game without missing, connecting on all 20 attempts.
Elizabeth Kitley registered a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds and Georgia Amoore continued her stellar play with another 20-point performance where she also had six assists and a career-high six rebounds.

- Aisha Sheppard's 139 games played is a program record.
- Elizabeth Kitley's 151 blocks are fourth all-time and her 25 double-doubles rank fifth
- The Hokies posted a 3.60 GPA in the fall semester, setting a program record.
- Tech went 20-for-20 from the free throw line against Duke, the most free throws made without a miss in program history. The Hokies are shooting 66% from the FT line this season and are 89% in their two ACC wins.
- The 22-point margin against the 15th-ranked Blue Devils is the largest margin in a win over a ranked team in program history.
- Tech's All-Conference center has been on tear in her last three games scoring 22 or more in each game and recording double-doubles in all three contests. In ACC play, Kitley averages 30.5 points, 13 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game, shooting 59% from the floor. She contributed nine of those 20 free throws Thursday night as the Hokies set a program record. In two league games she's made 17 free throws and shot 89% while in the non-conference portion of the season she converted just 15 at a 38% clip. Kitley leads the ACC in double-doubles, blocks and 20-point games.
- In her last two games, PG Georgia Amoore is averaging 20 points, 7.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 60%.
