Norfolk, Va. – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team wrapped up its time at the ITA Atlantic Super Regional on Sunday afternoon.
Each Hokie in competition picked up a win over the weekend between the doubles and singles action. On Saturday, Alvaro Saez-Royuela Ariza advanced to the Round of 16 with a decisive 6-0, 6-1 win over his challenger from Penn State. He ultimately fell in the next round, however, to his opponent from William & Mary.
Scott Sculley and Ryan Fishback advanced to the Super Regional quarterfinal on Saturday with an 8-6 win over their competition from William & Mary, but fell in the following match, 8-4, to a duo from Virginia.
Michael Shepheard and Hugo Maia both picked up straight set wins in the consolation bracket, along with Fishback who picked up two wins.
The Hokies will be in action one last time next weekend – at home in the Virginia Tech Halloween Clash.
