ADA Information

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Lane Stadium provides a safe and enjoyable event experience for all patrons.

Parking Pass Holders Needing ADA Parking
All pre-paid parking lots are first come, first served. Law enforcement will direct cars to the best available lot at the time. There will be no golf carts provided to take fans from parking lots to the stadium. If you feel you are unable to make it unassisted from the parking lot to the stadium, please make your way to the public ADA parking lot on Oak Lane (Duckpond Overflow Lot) (see map). Your digital pre-paid parking pass and ADA hangtag or ADA license plate will allow you entry.

Public ADA Parking
Public ADA parking will be available at the Duckpond Overflow Lot (see map) on Oak Lane for $50.00 via ParkMobile. Blacksburg Transit will provide accessible transportation from the ADA parking area to the south end zone gate at Lane Stadium beginning when the lot opens at 1:30 pm. An ADA hangtag or ADA license plate is required to enter the lot, and all spaces are first come, first served. At the ADA lot, you will be given a pass by Virginia Tech staff to use the ADA bus service. You will not be allowed to board the BT vehicle before or after the concert without this pass. Please retain this pass for boarding before and after the concert.

If you need ADA seating accommodations, please contact the ticket office in advance of the concert, 1-800-828-3244.

Admission

All fans entering Lane Stadium regardless of age must have a valid ticket.

Alcoholic Beverages

Alcoholic beverages are sold at designated concession stands throughout Lane Stadium. Alcohol policies are as follows:

  • Underage drinking is prohibited.
  • ID regardless of age. Patrons with an out of state license may be asked to provide a second form of identification.
  • Two drink maximum per identification, per transaction.
  • Patrons under the age of 21 found in possession of alcohol will be reported to the police.
  • Patrons who are consuming alcohol and appear to be under the age of 21 must be prepared to show proper identification. If proper ID cannot be provided upon request, patrons will be reported to the police.
  • Patrons who are supplying alcohol to underage guest will be reported to the police for ejection from the event and/or disciplinary action.
  • Patrons may be refused purchase at the discretion of concessionaire, police, stadium personnel or event staff.
  • No refunds will be offered for confiscated beverages.
  • Patrons are not permitted to leave the stadium with alcoholic beverages.
  • At the request of the artists, all drinks on the field must be in a cup.
  • Alcoholic beverage sales will end at 10:00 p.m.
Assistance

The stadium texting service is available to report issues. To discreetly report unruly behavior or security issues, fans are encouraged to text a brief description of the issue and location. Please text (540) 739-0089.

ATMs

Lane Stadium is a cashless stadium and does not have ATM machines.

Bag Policy

All guests will be subject to a search of their person and possessions prior to entering the stadium. All permissible bags, per the policy of the event, will be permitted into the stadium after a thorough inspection by a security representative. Guests should be prepared to open their bags for inspection and may be asked by a security representative to shift and possibly remove the contents.

Lane Stadium strongly encourages fans to not bring any type of bags to the stadium. The stadium allows only certain types and sizes of personal bags or containers into the stadium, including:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”.
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
  • Small clutch bags that are 4.5" x 1” x 6.5" without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items or baby supplies after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

Prohibited bags include, purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs (any type), cinch bags, luggage of any kind, seat cushions, strollers, computer bags and camera bags, diaper bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size. All bags that exceed the stadium’s bag policy must be either taken back to your vehicle or disposed of. Any bags found outside the stadium may be collected and discarded.

Cameras / Electronic Device Policy

Guests are welcome to bring cameras without a detachable lens and video recorders into the stadium for personal use only. Guests will not be permitted to bring any hard-sided cases into the stadium. Commercial use of photos without the express written consent of Virginia Tech Athletics and the Event Promoter is prohibited.

Guests are requested to avoid standing in the aisles while using cameras or video recorders. Guests should not obstruct the views of others while taking pictures. Stadium Management reserves the right to remove any guests that do not cooperate with this policy.

Ticket holders are prohibited from transmitting or aiding in the transmission of any information, including but not limited to, any account, description, picture, video, audio, reproduction or other information, about the game or event and any entertainment, attractions, warm-ups, practices, pre-game, post-game or between-action activities, promotions or competitions offered in connection with the game or event. The Stadium, Teams, Leagues and/or Event Promoter, and their respective assignees or affiliates are the exclusive owners of all copyrights and other proprietary rights in the game or event.

Cashless

Lane Stadium only accepts cards and contactless payment.

Code of Conduct

Lane Stadium Code of Conduct was developed for all guests attending to enjoy their experience and act responsibly. Any guest in violation of these rules will be subject to ejection without refund. Unruly behavior will not be tolerated. These rules include, but are not limited to:

  • Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Underage drinking
  • Actions that are harmful to or endanger others
  • Throwing items of any kind
  • Using foul or abusive language and/or gestures
  • Displaying inconsiderate behavior towards others
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Smoking in non-designated areas
  • Sitting or standing in the aisle ways
  • Entering or attempting to enter the field
  • Failure to follow instructions of stadium security personnel
  • Entering the stadium with any prohibited items
  • Accessing Lane Stadium without a ticket will be reported to the police
Concessions

A variety of concession stands will be open. ID Policy: for alcohol purchase (21+), identification must be valid (not expired) and show: date of birth, signature and a photograph.

Entrances

We highly encourage all guests to arrive early. Please allow extra time for the magnetometer screening, bag checks and ticket scanning.

  • Fans with tickets on the field MUST enter through southwest and southeast tunnels, located on either side of gate 2.
  • Fans with tickets in the seating bowl can enter through ANY other gate available
  • To expedite your entry process, please ensure your ticket is download on your phone before arriving to the ticket scanning pedestal. All pedestals are self-scan. Any customer service needs, the box office will open at 3:00 PM.

Field Level Fans

Fans located on the field can access concessions, restrooms and merchandise via field gates in the south end zone, north tunnel, or temporary stairs located in the northeast corner of the field. At the request of the artists, all drinks on the field must be in cups.

First Aid Rooms

First aid rooms are located throughout the stadium. Patrons can ask for assistance from event staff, law enforcement officers, or rescue squad members stationed at various portals around the stadium.

We encourage you to review the stadium map to locate the gate nearest to your seat. Please note that Gates 7 and 8 are closed for the concert.

Lost and Found

Lost and found is located at the Ticket office on the west side of Lane Stadium, beside gate 4 (south tower). For questions about lost items during the concert, please ask any staff member.

Merchandise

Concert merchandise can be found throughout the stadium and outside of the stadium near parking lots 1 & 4 (see map).

Mobile Tickets

All tickets for the concert will be mobile tickets. Please make sure to download your tickets to your mobile wallet before arriving on campus. View our mobile ticketing guide for information on how to download tickets to your mobile phone.

Parking

Lot 2 (south endzone lot) will be closed beginning April 30 and remain closed through the concert.

No overnight parking will be allowed before or after the concert. All lots must be cleared after the concert concludes. All lots will open at 1:30 PM on May 7 for concert parking.

Pre-purchased parking is sold out. Be on the lookout for a message from support@justpark.com, which will include your digital parking pass and instructions for access. Please note, the barcode contained in your email from JustPark will need to be scanned upon arrival in a parking lot on campus. We encourage you to download this digital parking pass and save a screenshot of the email, specifically including the barcode. One barcode per car will be required for access to the parking lots.

Additionally, to assist our staff with directing you to the correct location and the best available lot on event day, please print the email from JustPark to display on your dash as you enter campus.

A limited amount of non-pre-purchased parking on the event day parking is available throughout campus. All public parking on campus is $50 and can be accessed by using ParkMobile.

ADA parking is available at the Duck Pond Overflow lot (see map). Shuttle services will be provided to and from the stadium.

NO RV PARKING WILL BE ALOWED ON CAMPUS

Public Transportation

Blacksburg Transit will run an expanded schedule starting at 1:30 pm on May 7 to accommodate anticipated demand for the concert. BT fare is free to all riders. To plan you bus trip or to find out more information about service during the Metallica concert, please visiit ridebt.org/metallica or contact Blacksburg Transit by calling 540-443-1500.

Getting to the Concert
All BT routes (except Two Town Trolley) will drop off at Cassell Coliseum near the concert venue, Lane Stadium. Remember the 3 letter code of the bus you rode to the concert, the same route will take you home. 

After servicing the Cassell Coliseum bus stop, buses will service the Transit Center Loops before leaving campus. Buses will not stop at the Loops before servicing Cassell, riders wishing to transfer to other routes as the bus enters campus should exit the bus at the Wright House stop.

Leaving the Concert
Buses will continue servicing Cassell Coliseum after the concert. To board a bus after the show, return to the sidewalk in front of Cassell Coliseum. Buses are designated by a three letter code, plan to ride the same route home that you took to the concert. BT staff in safety vests will be on site to help direct you to the correct route.

Prohibited and Permitted Items

All persons entering the stadium are subject to search. To protect the safety of our patrons, players, officials’, artists, and staff, the following items are prohibited. Prohibited items will not be accepted at the stadium entrances for safekeeping. 

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Coolers / Containers / Bags / Purses (unless medical supplies and prior approved)
  • Refilable Containers / Water Bottles
  • Fireworks / Explosive / Weapons
  • Illegal drugs; follows State and campus guidelines
  • Laser pointers
  • Noisemakers (horns, whistles, cow bells, turkey calls, etc.)
  • Outside food or beverage
  • Pets (except service animals)
  • Signs, flags, banners
  • Projectiles (frisbees, beach balls, footballs, etc.)
  • Smoking cigarettes, using smokeless cigarettes, e-cigarettes
  • Strollers or umbrellas
  • Unmanned aircraft (drones)

PERMITTED ITEMS
The following items are permitted inside the venue:

  • Binoculars and cameras without a detachable lens (without case)
  • Radios with headsets
  • Seat cushions without arms or backs

Re-Entry Policy

There is NO re-entry at Lane Stadium.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located beneath all permanent stands and can be reached by exiting any portal.

Family/Special Needs restrooms are located in the following locations: behind section 126 (east side); behind section 205 and 509 in the south end zone, and behind sections 116 and 106 on the west side.

Field level fans can access restrooms via the south end zone field gates (see map), north tunnel, or the temporary stairs in the northeast corner of the field.

Rideshare

There are two designated areas for Drop Off/Pick Up (ie. Uber/Lyft) for the concert. One location is on Washington Street adjacent to the Hahn Garden and the other location is at the small lot adjacent to the traffic circle on Southgate Drive. See map for locations.

Road Closures

Please be aware that Beamer Way will close at Noon. (see map)

RV Parking

There is absolutely no RV parking available on campus.

Security Screening

To ensure a safe environment for the public, fans, employees, teams, artists and contractors entering Lane Stadium are submit to search and screening protocols that are in place. Please cooperate fully with the staff to ensure a smooth entry. Lane Stadium security personnel and management reserve the right to confiscate items that may cause damage to the facility, endanger guests or disrupt the event. Guests who violate the policy or decline to be searched may be denied entry or ejected from the stadium.

Smoking/VAPING Policy

Virginia Tech is committed to providing a smoke-free environment in all facilities, both indoor and outdoor. Smoking/vaping WILL NOT BE PERMITTED on the concourses, seating areas, field, restrooms or portals leading to the seating area. Smoking is permitted at Gates 1S, 6S, 7S and 3.

Tickets

The concert is sold out. If you have issues downloading your ticket, please contact the Ticket Office (800-828-3244). There are no refunds as the show will go rain or shine. All ticket sales are final. To expidite entry into the stadium, please have your ticket downloaded to your mobile wallet prior to arriving on campus.

Venue Policies

TICKETS & SCANNING
Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Fans having issues with ticket scanning should visit the Virginia Tech Athletic Ticket Office located near Gate 4 for assistance. Customers assume all risks for tickets purchased through a source other than Virginia Tech.

Fans cannot leave the stadium and be readmitted.

CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS
All transactions inside Lane Stadium will be cashless for the event.

Virginia Tech is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited in and outside of Lane Stadium except in designated areas - Gates 1S, 6S, 7S and 3.

ALCOHOL SALES
The sale of alcohol inside Lane Stadium will end at 10:00 PM.

Weather Policy

The event will continue rain or shine, inclement weather could cause event delays. Please come prepared for the weather. Umbrellas are prohibited.
