Hokies place 10 student athletes on All-ACC Academic Team


GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech track and field placed 10 student-athletes on the 2021 All-ACC Academic Outdoor Track and Field Team. Alexios Prodanas, Harrison Rice, Jacob Rice, Tyreke Sapp, and Diego Alejandro Zarate represented the Hokies on the men's side, while Eszter Bajnok, Lauren Berman, Lindsey Butler, Sarah Edwards, and Emma Thor received the honor on the women's side.
 
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
 
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
 
Each of the 10 Hokies selected to the All-ACC Academic Team also earned All-ACC honors at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, showcasing excellence both in competition and in the classroom. Six Hokies received first team All-ACC honors and four earned second team at the championship meet.
