The Virginia Tech lacrosse team got two goals each from Grace Nelson, Paige Petty and Emma Crooks Wednesday, but it was not enough to overcome Davidson as the Hokies fell 15-8. For Crooks, the two points took her career tally to 101 becoming the latest Hokie to reach the century mark.
Tech falls to 2-4 (0-3) on the season with the result ahead of two final home non-conference games.
Davidson, (5-2, 0-0 Atlantic 10) allowed the first goal of the game from Whitney Liebler before finding their footing and scoring eight of the game's next nine goals to take control.
The Wildcats were led by Erin Cooke who scored four goals and Sam Rippley who also tallied a hat trick in the game.
