BLACKSBURG – Hoping to follow last week's meet with another strong performance, the Virginia Tech track and field teams will welcome eight schools on Friday and Saturday in the Hokie Invitational at Rector Field House.
The two-day meet will not be broadcast, however, live stats will be made available through Flash Results.
Eight schools will travel to Blacksburg, including seven ACC schools (Virginia, Duke, UNC, NC State, Louisville, Clemson, and Wake Forest) and Tennessee.
Tech, which was ranked in the USTFCCCA polls on both sides last season, returns 32 All-ACC performers from last year. The first USTFCCCA poll is expected to be released Monday, Jan. 25 following the events this weekend.
Tech Director of Track and Field Dave Cianelli, the reigning ACC Indoor Coach of the Year on the women's side, enters his 20th season in Blacksburg.

ATHLETES TO WATCH
Jacory Patterson claimed ACC Men's Track Performer of the Week honors following his record-setting 300m run, in which he recorded the fourth fastest time in collegiate history and the fastest in the world this season. Already holding the first and third fastest times in history, Patterson has his eyes set on dominating sprints again this season.
Champion in the 400m at the 2020 ACC Indoor Championships, Caitlin Tate returns to action for the Hokies this weekend. The senior sprinter will look to jumpstart her season with solid performances on the track against top competition early in the year.
LAST TIME OUT
In the Virginia Tech Invitational last weekend, the Hokies boasted several standout results. Among them were Jacory Patterson's historic fourth best collegiate mark in the 300m, Lindsey Butler's 1000m run for fifth best in Tech history, a men's shot put win for Tyson Jones, and Rachel Baxter's pole vault win.
