Hokies sign transfer Kennedy Lynch

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech lacrosse team, which already features the only midfield in the nation that had three 20-plus goal scorers in 2020 just got a bit deeper with the addition of transfer Kennedy Lynch.

"I am excited to have Kennedy join our program," Head Coach John Sung said. "Her experience with winning a national championship in 2019 with the University of Maryland to winning a silver medal with team Canada U-19 will help us continue to build our program and help us take the next step."

With the Terrapins in 2019, Lynch played in two games, both wins on the way to the team's national championship victory.

"Kennedy was a top-50 recruit and played in the senior Under Armour games for her recruiting class," Sung continued. "Being able to bring a transfer in during this time has been a bit challenging, but we know adding Kennedy to our roster will give us the depth that we need."

The Hokies, who went 7-3 in the shortened 2020 season continue to build the roster with four players accepting their fifth year of eligibility and a talented crop of freshmen set to join the team in the fall.
