Hello Hokies,
Our team hopes you and your families are safe and healthy. It is hard to believe it is only the end of May when it feels like time has moved so quickly in the last few months. It seems like forever since we've come together wearing orange and maroon to cheer on the Hokies and we look forward to having that opportunity again in the near future.
As we prepare to begin the reseating process on Monday for football season tickets, we felt it was important to share updates in terms of what is being worked on and what options are being explored.
Reseating Process
Your central hub for all information pertaining to the reseating process is www.LaneStadiumSeating.com. All relevant information is included on this website and is the primary source of answers for any question you may have.
As currently scheduled, seat selections begin on June 1st and end on June 29th. Any seats bought after the deadline will be selected at the end of this process (after June 29th) and will be handled individually. Selections only happen from Monday - Thursday as our staff will use Fridays during the process as a day to circle back with anyone from earlier in the week, prepare for the following week, etc. There will be approximately 200 appointments each day until we have helped the first 1,000 members in the Hokie Club Priority Point Ranking and approximately 400 appointments each day once we clear the 1,000th member of the Hokie Club (all in order to meet our necessary deadline of the end of June).
Each season ticket holder will receive multiple email notifications before their selection appointment and after their appointment if they have not completed the selection. If we have not heard from you by the next business day, we will select the best available seats based on your Hokie Scholarship Fund gift as of April 30, 2020.
When you log in, you will notice that some seats are already selected. As you can imagine, there are multiple groups that we have to account for in Lane Stadium including, but not limited to, families of student-athletes, athletics department staff members, corporate partners, predetermined contracts, campus administrative needs, recruits, ADA seating, pioneer accounts, students, visiting team seat locations, etc. We do our best to minimize the impact of these predetermined locations and appreciate your understanding.
If you are planning to "group seat" or "group park", we encourage you to review the process at www.LaneStadiumSeating.com so you are fully aware of how that can happen. We need to handle it this way so that no one is left out inadvertently.
Leaving single seats is not permitted during the seat selection process. We appreciate your understanding of this policy.
In an effort to comply with current Virginia Tech policies, all seat selections will need to be handled online or over the phone. We have many options available for you and will have as many as 40 staff members available at any point during this process to assist with any questions/concerns you may have. If you know you would like assistance during this process, please let us know at your convenience, with advance notice, so we can be adequately prepared for your appointment time. Contingency Plans for the 2020 Football Season
The seat selection process we start on Monday is not built for a "socially distanced" Lane Stadium, so please select your seats as if there are no restrictions within Lane Stadium. As you are all aware, there are seemingly endless possibilities right now and we are handling the selection process this way because it is the optimal situation. In the event that we receive clarity regarding the football season during the seat selection process, we will still finish the process as it stands now. At that point in time, we will take the information we receive, apply it to one of our many contingency plans, and announce different options for the 2020 football season. As soon as we have clarity, we will share it with all of you. Thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate the questions.
We will not be on sale with additional ticket packages (other than season tickets) until we know what the fall football season will look like with any potential social distancing and capacity regulations.
In the event we are unable to have Lane Stadium at full capacity, season ticket holders and Hokie Club donors will have priority access to tickets and, depending on capacity percentages, it is unlikely that tickets will be made available to the general public. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we do encourage you to consider purchasing season tickets before the end of June in order to be included in the first round of that process.
Finally, the vast majority of our team will be working remotely during this process and will be doing everything possible to make your seat selection experience wonderful. Please have patience with us as we work through the first-ever completely remote seat selection process in Virginia Tech football history. If you would like additional assistance or have any concerns, please connect with us at any of the resources listed above and we will work with you to solve every challenge together.
Thank you for your support of Hokies student-athletes. We have over 17,000 members in the Hokie Club, an all-time high, and we are truly humbled by the continued generosity of Hokies. We, like all of you, are looking forward to being able to come together in Lane Stadium on September 5th and start jumping when the first note of Enter Sandman is played.
